Truckmandi - Easy Truck Booking

Truckmandi is targeted at retail companies which need to manage several long haul bookings per day. The app translates the complex procedure of truck booking into a simple and manageable task with contextual notifications at all the stages of the process.
Empty state and side drawer
After a user logs in they are presented with a small help text and arrow to guide them to try searching for a truck. The favourite action button (FAB) has been modified to add the text “BOOK A TRUCK” for a faster learning curve. The side drawer is kept simple with access to their account and historical bookings. It also provides a Truckmandi’s contact number in case the user wanted to talk to a representative before booking a truck.
Booking flow
This is where the user places his query for a truck. The booking flow has been broken down into 3 steps. Each step has fields which are related and make the form less overwhelming. This break down helps reduces errors in the process.
Pending queries
After posting a query the user receives various quotes in his ”PENDING” queries tab. He can choose a quote, counter bid or request cancellation of the query. If he chooses a quote then his query is considered confirmed and moves to the “CONFIRMED”queries tab.
Confirmed queries
Once a query has moved in the confirmed tab, the user can track the truck and will be informed of its status throughout the delivery. These updates were collected by automatic trackers placed on some of the trucks as well as manually added by our vehicle tracking team.
Reception
The app was a critical part of making booking easier for our customers. After launching it we received a lot of positive feedback from users who used to manage all of the above steps manually on paper ledgers and several mobiles — yes, we sometimes saw up to 3 mobile phones per logistics manager being used to handle the whole process which was replaced by our app.
